THE FINEST BEST SHEETS BEGIN WITH EXCEPTIONAL COTTON

SOL uses only non-GMO seeds & rain fed irrigation to grow our fine long-staple organic cotton in India,
because it produces the strongest, longest and finest cotton fibers in the world.
The best staple fibers come from longer staple cotton.

Longer staple fibers make for stronger & smoother yarns, because there are fewer open ends & breaks.
Shorter fibers stray out of the weave, leading to a coarse weak fabric.

SINGLE-PLY YARN
SOL uses only single-ply yarn because it makes for the finest, strongest threads.

It is made from long-staple cotton resulting in soft, light, yet extremely long-lasting sheets.

Multi-ply yarns are a group of weak fibers spun together to create a false strength.

They mostly use lower-grade, shorter staple cottons resulting in heavy, thick and coarse threads.

FINER THREAD
The fine thread spun from single-ply, long staple cotton is responsible for making the most lavish sheets.

To clarify how this factors into the feel of a sheet, compare the threads woven in a jute bag versus those of a fine silk scarf.

The finer the thread, the lighter, smoother & softer the resulting fabric.

By using single-ply, long staple cotton, we are able to construct SOL sheets using only 60 and 80 yarn count threads, the finest available for cotton bedding.

THREAD COUNT
Thread count is the number of threads woven together in a square inch of fabric.

The quality of the sheet does not become superior if it is made with a higher thread count. With a higher thread count, the fabric becomes softer, denser and warmer.

Companies claiming their bedsheets to have thread counts higher then 500 are misleading their customers into believing their bedsheets are of higher quality.

Usually they count each ply spun together within each thread. A super high thread count can actually indicate the presence of a lower-quality sheet, as multi-ply construction is often used to reinforce lower-grade cotton.

The sheet on the top right is more superior as the actual thread count is 300 made with higher quality single-ply threads vs 200 thread count on the bottom right made with lower quality, 2 or 3-ply threads. The 200 thread count option would feel more like a table cloth, & who wants a table cloth on their bed.

Quality Fine Long Staple SOL Organics Sateen Weave Sheets, Superior look and feel. Signature silky smooth lustrous sheen. Softer warmer year round comfort

WEAVE
The weave of a fabric is directly tied in with how it looks and feels.

Our weave is a 100% organic cotton sateen sheet.

Sateens signature silky smooth & lustrous sheen comes from exposed thread surface composed of the three-over, one-under weave.

Sateen is usually woven tightly and tends to be heavier in weight than percale. This makes it softer, warmer and ideal for year-round comfort.
